Chi Combat System® successfully combines all that is useful from all of the major styles that are known today. If you like the fluidity of Kick-Boxing, the mastery of Karate, the close-range-defenses of Jiu-Jitsu, Hapkido and Judo then look no further; the Chi Combat System® has them all and more, ensuring you maximum benefit to build strength, stamina and fitness without the need to cross train.
“Hyper-extension” or “lock-out” movements are not used in Chi Combat System’s curriculum or techniques as seen in some of the traditional martial arts styles. These habitual movements are too rigid, lack agility and are therefore not effective enough on the street where it counts. It has also been shown that movements such as these can cause swelling, inflammation and other chronic injuries to the joints. With experience we have taken the best techniques from a blend of traditional martial arts that can be traced back thousands of years known to be tried and tested to produce one uncomplicated style. This partnered with scientific techniques from the field of Sports Science has made Chi Combat System a complete martial arts system that minimises stress on the body’s joints.
Chi Combat System believes in promoting healthy living and ultimately has the wellbeing of the student in mind. So we promote natural movements through drills, sparring systems & patterns and support the standard structure of the body.
The underlying principle that ties everything together under the Chi Combat System concept is Chi. “Chi” is an old Chinese word that translates to “flowing energy.” This flowing energy has been used to design The Chi Combat System curriculum to use body movements that are strong, fluid, structurally and bio-chemically sound in scientific terms.
